Malaga’s 2015 Christmas lights

December 18, 2015 By John Leave a Comment

It’s that time of year in Malaga, with Calle Larios, yet again, the focal point for all the city’s Christmas lights.

This year’s theme is a ‘starry sky,’ with a 25,500 kgs tubular structure that runs the length of Calle Larios.

Calle Larios, Alameda Principal, the historical center and Muelle Uno are all covered with lights. A total of 1,646,049 efficient energy light bulbs currently grace Malaga’s streets and squares.

The Christmas lights will be lit every day until the 6th of January from 6.30pm until 2am.

According to La Opinion de Malaga, the total electricity bill is not expected to exceed €1,500 – wishful thinking or those are some extremely energy-efficient lights!
