Where is it?
The “Cañón de las Buitreras” (Vultures’ Canyon) is located on the eastern edge of Los Alcornocales Nature Park, in the Province of Cadiz.
Its name is no coincidence, the Cañón de las Buitreras is a nesting ground for a large colony of Griffon vultures.
The Guadiaro River runs through it. An exceptionally clean river, it’s home to many turtles and fish (there are some great hiking routes in and around this river).
Canyoning
A slightly more technical route than the Garganta Verde, with more swimming and colder water, but still straightforward. The end requires a lot of walking and scrambling, which makes it harder for children.
Technically speaking, far easier than Rio Verde.
